Root HTCDev bootloader unlock enough for bloatware freeze?

Apologies, but I can't seem to find a clear answer to this question anywhere. So I have a fully updated Incredible 2 running stock software. I only wish for the ability to freeze bloatware apps with Titanium. Is unlocking the bootloader using the HTCDev method enough of a modification to achieve this? Most importantly, I want to be able to preserve the ability to get ICS down the line.

I think so. I've never seen any reports that freezing or uninstalling bloatware does anything.
