Root HTCDev unlock and ICS?

aphlatoon

I just want to get rid of all the bloatware, my question is, if i HTCDev unlock the phone and getting superuser, remove all the bloatware, would I still be able to get the ICS update whenever verizon decides to push it OTA?

normally you would either flash back to stock and relock your bootloader then take the update. Or wait till a Dev makes the ICS available for rooted users. Which is usually very fast.

side note. ..you'll probably see quite a few leaks of ICS before the official release. Good leaks that actually work. Not like the leak that came out last week.

i just flash this,wich is based on a newer leak: [Rom]-Ineffabilis-Deus-v1.0-Odex-ICS 4.0.3 sense 3.6 "STABLE"[1-28-12] - xda-developers

so far it seems to work very well.

if you are on a custom rom,the above is what youll need to do. or at least flash back your stock recovery/boot/system image, since thats all we can actually change

if youre on a stock rom,you wont really need to relock and run an ruu. just replace the recovery with a stock one. i just got the 2.01.605.11 OTA while rooted and unlocked and it it went fine. even updated my unlocked 2.10 hboot to unlocked 2.11 :D
