can anyone please help me on what this app does? it's keeping my phone awake 100% of the time. i froze it and now my phone sleeps, but i have googled and googled and I cannot find the purpose of this app or what freezing it may do? Does anyone know the purpose of this app by chance?

Did you mean HtcDMC.apk, which is the HTC Digital Media Controller?

Edit: After a little research, it seems the HtcDM refers to Diagnostic Mode, which has to do w/ the HTC activation process.

The package name is com.redbend.vdmc I believe this was used to maintain software updates on mobile devices. It's probably the service that handles checking for updates.

Mine has also been eating a lot of cpu. I rejected the update but it still runs every day. I haven't frozen it yet. Been manually force closing it every morning.
