What are my options for a replacement? I liked the fact that the stock HTC one took up all of one of my home screens, so I'm looking for something at least similar.
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
I get nothing. No matter what the reload time is set to, the widget is empty. All the time. The only way I get to see tweets is if I hit the arrow on the top right corner of it to actually open the program.Thats weird. How often does your twitter update? I think mine is set to like 4 or 6 hours. You can reset the update under settings. Also down at the bottom of the twitter app there is a thin line with a little refresher symbol. Whenever I need a quick update I hit that and it updates everything within 10 seconds.

I haven't used its widget, but Twicca, which is still in beta, is my favorite Twitter client. I use Seesmic as well at times for its integration with j.mp.
I have an htc Hero. I'm with MisterMixelPix, I love Touiteur also! It can be downloaded FREE from the Market. With the apps, Twitter or otherwise, it pays to just spend some time playing with them. For instance, I did not know that the full-page Twitter app that comes installed on the Hero can be condensed to a small rectangle, until yesterday. And I've had my phone for 4 months. I don't know about the other models, but the hero also comes with a Twitter app called "Peep." It's just a little green bird that you can touch, then you are connected to Twitter.Well there's the official Twitter app.
I'd say the best free replacement is Tweetcaster.
Personally I adore Touiteur.
to get any scrolling apps you have to find the ones that are optimized for specific home replacements that enable scrolling. Android doesn't support scrolling out of the box and the only reason the HTC app scrolls is because sense enables it.Twidroid Pro has a full one but it has button scrolling :-/

Also I read that the official Twitter app is real power hungry, one of the worst battery use offenders. I used Twitroid Pro on my Droid and loved it.
Is there an app that updates twitter and Facebook from one entry point?
Blah. The stock HTC one has stopped working for me for some reason. It won't load any of the tweets in the actual widget unless I open it up. I've tried taking it off the home screen and putting it back on there and nothing has worked. So if someone can help me get that squared away, I'd be more than happy to stick with the original one.
The official Twitter has a half page widget. (and a 1/4 page) Looks similar to HTC's but better.
