htppS how do I turn it on ?

I cant use "market" as login into my google account, and on my secure mailbox Safe-mail.net which uses httpS fails.
I have no problem using Firefox & ubuntu 9.10 via the USB cable network sharing, so It's not the phone, but the browser I must configure.
I do not see any ssh or https setting in the settings menu of the browser.
Any help welcome.

Problem solved with the help of HTC customer service by resetting the Hero.
