Huawei 3G problems (maybe).

So I live in homestead FL and i was wondering if anybody with the huawei is getting 3G? I call customer support and I get two different answers why I "can't" Get 3G: either I live in an area which is outside the 3G coverage which I think is crap because I know somebody that even gets 4G right next to me, or my phone doesn't get 3G which is also crap because right on the box it has a 3G signal. I'm paying 45 and in a family plan (so I think the actually price I should be paying is 50 [?]). And I'm on PRL 3023. So I was wondering if there was any way to get 3G on it, like manually. And it is rooted.
Any help is appreciated.:)

45$? How's that possible, the Data Rates start at 50. Some rate I'm dumb not to know about? ._.

3G comes and goes depending on coverage, if the towers nearby support it, you'll get it, otherwise its just 1xRTT. If you know someone else who has the phone, see if they have it, or who lives around the immediate area. You may be in a bad range area or they have not fully implemented 3G.

Asking Metro is like talking to a Brick wall by the way.

If you add a phone to an existing plan you get 5 bucks off your plan and the one you are adding it too

They only take that off the line you are adding. I pay $50 for mines but formula daughtersthetook the $5 off. Theirs is 35
 
Really you got jipped. I have 2 phones on my plan. I pay 45 and 35. And I even got my Ascend for 50 bucks for adding it to the plan.
 
i live in homestead to and i went to 8st AND 67ave to eat at a chinees place and i had 3g and my prl was at 3023 the 3g lasted until 152st then cut off and my prl went back to 3019 canany body explain why
 
This is such crap. Went to the metro store and they told me the ascend doesn't get 3G. I guess I'll just do a prl update, I know my area gets 3G. Metro customer service sucks balls.

Wow... That Metro rep really must be braindead. You should print out some of the screenshots we've all posted and show them to that rep. Ask them to explain how it's possible that all of us have 3g on our Ascends, if the Ascend isn't capable of 3g.
 
I asked a Metro employee like 2 months ago about 3G and she goes "Oh we already have 3g let me show you some phones" (I never told her what phone I had) She shows me the Optimus The Ascend and another phone and turned to the other employee and asked what other phones were 3g. He looked up and was all "We dont have 3g. We went from 1x to 4g" And I told him Yes you do Ive seen it (This was before I pushed my prl) and then he got all rude "SIR WE. DO. NOT. HAVE. 3G." I was just like whatever shut. And just kept talking to the lady. So I had one telling me yes and one telling me no. Oh did I mention this was CORPORATE store? Ahaha

i had the same thing, one employee even told me that the ascend can be running 4G LTE ! Lol these metro employee's are stupid
 
I've said it before in a thread and I'll say it once more. Metro should hire people from AF. Period.

As for 3G, DO NOT UPDATE VIA *228! You will be updated to 3019 which doesn't have 3G in the list. It should update automatically when it detects it, if not, use QSPT to modify it manually. However, if you did a bad PRL update and ended up with NO signal, that's when you do it via Activation. Bastards at Metro forcing us to have the stupid 1X...you should have heard my friend, an M835 owner, freak out when he updated his PRL and it was at 3020, instead of going to 4, it went to 19! LOL.
 
All these stories and companies wonder why we do things like PRL pushes .... It's because your customer service can't provide adequate support.
