Help Huawei Ascend will not vibrate on incoming sms

I rooted my huawei ascend using z4root and i have a different rom installed. My phone will not vibrate on incoming sms messages. The vibrate works fine on incoming calls. Also works when i go from ringer to vibrate. I don't know what the issue is here...

Seeing how you had to flash the recovery ROM, the option is probably just turned off (mine vibrates all the time). Do this:

Go into the Messaging app. Make sure you're in the main window (the one that displays all your current conversations). Press the Menu button and choose Settings. Scroll down to the bottom and make sure vibration is turned on.
