The USB Type-C standard has a feature called Power Delivery, that will increase its charging speed and this is something we see in the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
Even though the Nexus 6P is made by Huawei, the company has limited the charging speed of the P9 to only 2A. So you won't be able to get rapid charging on the P9 like you do the 6P.
