Help huawei g510 - 0251 internal storage to sd card

Gold9036

Lurker
the internal memory of my phone is nearly full. I have a 30 Gb sd card installed. my question is IF I CHANGE THE DEFAULT STORAGE LOCATION TO SD CARD will I mess-up my phone and loose everything and have to start from scratch?

a second problem is that I am unable to activate the "debugging" under developer options, so I can't perform a backup or alternatively "root" my phone - which I might add I'm a little scared of doing.

hope so good person can help me out.

thank you.

1) Not all apps will run from the SD card, even if they get moved there. And they leave links in internal storage, so you don't save the entire size of the app. The SD card is meant to store files - music, videos, pictures, documents, etc. If you change the default storage location for those files, you won't mess anything up. (When you do that, move the files in internal storage to the SD card to free up some space.)

2) Backing up apps (or the ROM) has nothing to do with USB debugging. There are apps for backing up apps and data, and backing up the ROM needs a custom recovery installed. Rooting is totally separate and has nothing to do with USB debugging or backing up.
