after playing with it for a day here are some comments

the 2M camera takes pretty weak pictures.

I like the feel of the unit with the metal frame and stand

I like the optical scroll mouse so you cna scroll without having to use the touch sreen. I did not find that function on any of the other lower end usints I looked at. Event he galaxy doe snot have it.

the battery indicator is not very accurate. The battery life is better than it shows.

im going to try to post using it next.

i just got this for my wife for christmas and was wondering how to use this thing as a phone? we are on the sprint network and even though she wont use it like that hardly ever, the feature is awesome.

My wife and I each got one for Christmas and so far really like it. I really looked at what was out there before we got these and landed here. I am very happy with the choice that we made.

I have a Droid X so I will not be using this as a phone for any reason. Also having the X, I can connect the tablet to the 3G on the X anytime I don't have WiFi.

As soon as either Huawei or a developer can get 2.2 on this tablet it should make this tablet one of the best on the market especially for the price.

The biggest problem I have right now is there is not enough storage space for all the applications I want to add. Again having the X and 8GB of space for apps, I now can't add even half the apps I want. Once we can get 2.2 then we can move apps to the 8GB storage that is in the tablet.

The other big plus will be getting flash on 2.2. Once this is done I rarely be on a PC at home any more. Just to convert my DVD's to files so I can watch them on my tablet or other things like that.

Hopefully there will be enough interest here to get our own sub-form.

yeah, the website for this thing clearly states that it has a gsm /cdma radio built in. Maybe im a moron but i have yet to hear someone activating it on a cdma network.

Cdma would be difficult because you would need to be approved and make different hardware for each a la galaxy tab. Gsm is just a sim card. To keep cost down they probably only serve to their local cdma .

taking this back Saturday and getting an archos 70, it runs froyo and has a compasative screen (if thats whats its called). although i do love this ideos s7 the lack of a usa cdma network killed the deal for me... it really was the only reason i went with it from the jump:rolleyes:

Searching manufacturer site. Update to 2.2 cominging in Febuary. Anyone having problems syncing with PC. Do you have a link to where you found on the Huawei site where they have confirmed where we will have 2.2 in February? This is huge news as there have been reports, none from Huawei that they will be and that they won't be updating to 2.2. It would be nice if they have finally said this. Thanks

Hello,

I have just got an S7 but I don't know how to install the USB driver, I have downloaded the zipped file but then it opens with a bunch more files, not anything to install. I am using win7 32bit op. system.

Can anyone help?
Is it true about updating to 2.2 as well?

Thanks,
Ollie

Its ment for china's cdma networks i believe..
actually, it cooperates with att, t-mo or simple mobile which i use, like they said just pop in the sim etup the apn while activating the sim and there you go, its easier just to let the agent you buy the sim card from just set it up for you though, you only need to do it if your have to do a reboot on the device but your servicde providers customer service reps can walk you through it, although you will probably have to say your using an android phone like the g1 or something.

hi folks new here, close to purchasing an Archos 101, does the US S7 in fact accept a SIM card? I was at a best buy and couldn't find the slot? (i do have bad eyes though). If it did have a SIM card slot I would be very inclined to purchase the Huawei instead
