If it's network-locked only the "parent" network can provide the unlock code, and they'll only do that if he handset is out-of-contract.

I mean we're all happy to help, just don't have too much experience outside of the carrier thing.

Usually you call the carrier, you get the code, you punch it in on your dialer and go to the next carrier and say set me up.

Some are less pleasant so that's why I'm asking which ones.

In the UK you put in a sim from your new network/carrier and when you boot up you're prompted for a code (PUK or PAK or something)
You can buy codes on eBay but you're taking the chance of getting ripped off so check the seller's rating

Well thats not how it is in my country which is Jamaica and my Carrier is LIME

I've helped quite a few others from the island so I understand the confusion.

First, let's sort out your options.

Your phone came in two models, one only works for 3G on Lime (and originally Claro) , and another with the same overall model number, Y330, only works on Digicel.

But, of course Digicel bought Claro and from everything I can find, shut down their 3G in favor of their own 850 MHz band.

Please look in your settings, About, maybe under phone identity, or the box if you have it, or at any sticker inside if the it has a user removable back.

Let's verify if you can find the model Y330-Uxx, it's the whole model number we need to check.

If it can work elsewhere - or if you don't care about Digicel - let me know.

I can't make any promises but I can ask some people about getting you unlocked.

I dont have the box that the phone came in only the phone itself

All i know its Lock to LIME and i and the sim lock code better yet the default code or something like that to pull it

Where do we go from here?
