HW versions?

I exchanged yesterday and the new one is HW version 2. Is that the same as day 1 units? Power button and VU buttons definitely better on the new one.

When I got my replacement I noticed that the model number on the inside under the battery cover on my first one had -00 after the model number and this one has -01, power button was a bit more raised but noticed no difference in the volume buttons.

I dont remember looking at the setting for hardware version though, sorry. But the one I have now says 2.

cant recall what my first phones version was. my new one is 002 and volume buttons and power button is definitely better.

Are all of you within 14 days of purchase? I want to be sure that the reduction in the number of days that we get a new replacement in-store is being applied equally in all stores. I'm in a bit of a forum hiatus so I don't go totally postal on Apple since I learned that the 14 day return policy and the end of NE2 are both due to contractual requirements from Apple.

It turns out my front facing camera was not just misbehaving with video apps, it was totally borked. I bought on launch day, and I have a certified like new replacement coming from FedEx. Hopefully it's just a returned phone with the DNA of some meatlunch that couldn't tolerate the battery life scrubbed off it.

I have HW 2 on mine, which was from launch-day stock at the store (I work there, hid it when it came in til I got paid....)

Then again, I have no issues with mine either, so... I'm not much help

mine seesms to be 00, but I have had no problem with the power button or the volume button. Only time I havd had issues with the power button is when I am turning it on, lol. Other than that the phone seems fine.
