Hyperion 4000mah battery and back just arrived!

I believe SEIDIO will sell you a cover w/o a battery. As this option is not posted anywhere on the site, just give them a call.
Their US operations are based in HOUSTON, TX. & expect to pay $14.99 for the battery cover.

Another option is to contact HYPERION, as you may have simply received a defective cover w/your battery. I'm sure since you purchased a battery from them, they'd be more than happy to send you a new one free of charge.

FWIW, my MUGEN 4600 EXTENDED BATTERY cover fits very tight & has a kickstand built-in, if this interests you.
I'm guessing MUGEN would sell you a battery cover, in hopes of getting future business from you. Just an FYI w/this battery cover : don't expect to find an extended battery case for this that will fit, as I believe the MUGEN 4600 extended battery cover is slightly larger than all the rest available.

Keep us posted on what action you decide to take.:D

I found the Mugen one on ebay.

Looks like one of the nicer ones, but seems pretty huge compared to others.

I can't believe no one sells oversized battery doors by themselves.

With how bulky and fragile they are, you would think there would be a demand for them.

It is big, but nice. Good quality & the blue matches up perfectly w/the phone.
If you can go w/o a phone case, this is an excellent choice.

If I come across a case that'll fit over the MUGEN 4600 battery cover, I'll post it here.

For now, I'm going sans battery cover & using the TPU EXTENDED BATTERY CASE by YESOO as the battery cover & case.

According to my tests, the Hyperion battery is the best deal at $20.

However, if I had to pick between the Hyperion and GG batteries at the same price, I'd pick the GG one because it has slightly higher capacity.

The back cover that comes with the Hyperion battery is the same one that QCell and the generic red/orange battery use. The GG battery has the same back cover that Anker and I think at least one other brand uses.

These are the 3 "standard" back covers:

To the left is Onite, middle is Anker/Gorilla Gadgets, and the right one is QCell/Hyperion/Generic R&O battery.

The point of mentioning the difference between the covers is because the QCell TPU only fits on the QCell/Hyperion case.
 
Sorry if it has been mentioned before, but how long does it take to charge a 4000 mah battery with an S3 charger or on USB?

That's the battery and cover I got (Hyperion 4200) and I highly recommend it. The battery lasts considerably longer than the original and the back cover, though thicker is very similar to the original so you pretty much have the same phone, just thicker. Very happy with it.
 
It turns out that Gorilla Gadgets just came out with a TPU case. I ordered it I just wish it came in pebble blue. It only comes in black or white.

Yes, most of the extended capacity batteries are physically bigger, so they require an oversized battery cover. (this looks and feels fine, but makes your phone thicker)

Also limits the cases you can get, as most will not fit, since your phone is bigger.

Usually, the batteries come with the needed battery cover, but sometimes it is not included.

Cant say about the performance yet, but the slipperyness of it is definitely noticable to me. Is there any sort of case that fits with this battery/back?

I liked my soft silicon case because it caused friction in my pocket and wouldnt fly out easily if i jumped or fell, or bent over lol

I just got my S3 extended battery from Gorilla Gadgets last week. I tested them out with my white S3 phone during the weekend. The battery works great and is giving me enough juice to get through the whole day. I also bought the white TPU protective case from them. Perfect alignment. I don't know much about the protective case from Hyperion. But I have read some bad reviews on their case before.

I got the silicon case designed for the extended battery cover. Nice and grippy and has saved me from a few drops. I did mod it by cutting around the power, volume and USB port.
 
FWIW, the abovementioned case fits on/over the GORILLA GADGETS 4500 battery cover.Also, the GORILLA GADGETS battery cover also fits when using the MUGEN 4600 extended battery. (the YESOO TPU case is slightly undersized to fit the MUGEN 4600 battery cover).

So, from what I've gathered here & in other extended battery threads, the YESOO extended battery case + GORILLA GADGETS 4500 battery cover combination "SHOULD" work w/any oversized-extended battery, including the HYPERION brand.

BTW, I'm charging the GORILLA GADGETS 4500 overnight & will start the conditioning process tomorrow. For those interested, I'll be posting my unscientific,everyday use/results in the GORILLA GADGETS battery thread about a week from now.

Well, that is true. I am an amateur and I didn't spend thousands of dollars on a super duper battery analyzer. I am open to ideas about how to do more useful things, but I try to incorporate things as I find out about them.

I like the results the battery analyzer gives: it quantifies capacity, it's absolute versus relative, has multiple test modes which can be used to characterize a battery - and while not perfect, it's usually repeatable and accurate.

After a large number of tests, I am nearing completion of 3 different sets. First is the Hyperion Galaxy Note 2 test - I need at least one more result on one battery. The other battery tests well. Second is testing of all the batteries at 2 amps - 4x the load of the original. Since there is virtually no information about the battery available to the public, this might reveal something useful. Probably not though.

Third is a power/watt profile - this unfortunately isn't a googleable term. It involves stepping up the amps and monitoring the voltage - volts times amps is power. Power will keep going up with the load as long as the voltage doesn't drop too much. The point is to find the load where power output is the highest - after the peak, power will decrease with increased load.

Sorry about this graph, I didn't intend to make it public, but it shows what I'm talking about. I tested a power supply I found in my drawer, it's labeled as a 2A power supply. Right after 1.75A the power decreases - slightly under the 2A rating. I take that to mean (read: I'm not an expert, but it seems common sense to determine) that the power supply is slightly overrated, and the highest it should be loaded is 1.75A or else you actually get less power out of the power supply. I think that's pretty cool.

It doesn't work so well testing on the cell phone batteries - the protection circuit disconnects the battery once I hit 3.25A and the graph is still climbing at that point. I'd have to bypass the protection circuitry and connect directly to the cells. The upside to doing that is I could test at a high enough load to make the battery melt. The downside is that I could test it at a high enough load to make the battery melt. :)

Which brings me to my question:

Why do you insist on posting off-topic information that either belongs in another thread,or,in another phone forum altogether?

As a lot of users here are more than likely 1st time forum participants & new to ANDROID,the off-topic posts can be confusing & discouraging.

I'm not a forum cop by any stretch,but,I can assure you that off-topic drift,multiple threads on the same subject,etc... are frowned upon by the staff.I had to learn the hard way when I first arrived here @ A/F & had my posts/threads moved/merged,or deleted until I started using the search feature @ the top of the page.

The SGS III forum has over 6,000 threads & it requires an effort by everyone who participates to keep the forum a productive tool to find relevant information w/o having to dig through off-topic posts to find that information.
