i know i'm gonna risk sounding like a little school girl with a crush but i'm really beginning to love my epic. at first i missed my blackberry...i was used to it and it was easier for me. then i was wondering if i should get the evo but after reading on the forums and finding out all the little tips and tricks to get my phone the way i wanted for me...i love my epic. i downloaded apps like shootme, handcent sms, beautiful widgets, and others and my phone is customized so nice for me. i even learned the touchwiz and now i'm able to have the home row icons set up the way i want. and with juice defender and all the battery life saving/ extending tips my battery has been amazing! i know that launcher pro is supposed to be way better than the touchwiz but right now touchwiz works for me (unless someone can point me in the direction of launcher pro plus as i hear it has lots of customizations...i dont mind buying it). even though i've only been on these forums a couple of days i want to say thanks to everyone who made a sticky forum of useful information and videos and anyone who answered my noob questions!!
 
welcome, Glad your enjoying your new epic. Im a launcher pro plus user and I think that you will love it just because, like me, you love customization. You can buy pro plus from inside the free launcher pro app. I also suggest "launcher pro icons" paired with "desktop visualizer" for some awesome custom icons and docks. Really easy to use

get launcher pro in the market..
then within the setup of launcher pro.. you can purchase the full app!
it is awesome! once you get it.. you will know why TW sucks!

Actually I'd wait. The new official ota date is supposed to be feb 21. After that comes and goes without an update I'd use the leaked Version.
 
I love my Epic too.. I don't use launcher Pro.. I use ADW. Either one works great and much smoother (IMHO) compared to TW.
 
Um, this is weird to find an I heart Epic thread. Maybe because it's so close to Valentine's Day? I've loved my Epic since before I even bought the damn thing. I loved it so much in fact I even told the Sprint Online Customer Service Rep how much I loved it and because English wasn't obviously her first language, it totally weirded her out! Thank you Epic!
 
i didn't even realize how weird it would look with v-day so close LOL!! and for the record i've noticed that about a lot of customer services...they never are here in america.

I've had the EPIC since it first came out, and we were promised an update before the end of 2010. That obviously didn't happen (well for me it did; since DK28 works so well). Point is, these OTA dates have gone by several times with no OTA update.
 
I'll fess up...I love my Epic too! I mean, really really love it.

I had a total love/hate relationship when I tried the Evo (for 3 weeks) before I got the Epic. I have not once felt anything but love for my Epic in the 3 months I've had it!

You guys aren't alone.

I thoroughly enjoy my Epic as well. I bought it when it first came out, and I'm still completely happy with it.

My wife got the epic when it first came out and I had serious phone envy (I had the htc hero) up until 3 weeks ago when sprint gave me an upgrade early. Now I am loving this thing... So far it's stock (rooted for the WiFi hotspot) and sooooo much smoother than my last.
 
Mine is still stock. I rely on it too much for work to do anything that would make Sprint not support it fully. I even pay the crazy $30/month sprint hotspot fee. 3 nights of $9.99/night hotel wifi when I'm traveling and I break even each month.

If it weren't such a critical device for me, I'd run one of the many custom ROM's like I did on my Moment. I relied heavily on the Moment too, but the custom ROM was necessary to make the phone usable, as far as I was concerned.

I'll jump on the love my epic bandwagon we have here, lol! I LOVE this phone!! There is something about watching a 720p movie on this little device that just makes my jaw drop everytime I watch it. UNREAL!! I mainly use my phone for entertaining myself on my commute to, at and from work. It is the best mobile entertainment device I have!
