ok so i reverted back to stock. from 5.7.893 i think, the one in my sig. anyway, now i am still having data drops and other issues. i need to have a reliable phone for business. so back to crackberry. trust me i tried. i did a factory reset today after the one click back to stock and now cant connect to the market to retrieve my apps. this phone is number 5 and i wont go 6. so i will call and fight to get a bb or go elsewhere. i am glad this is not happening to all. but to me its to much. see ya in the galaxy tab 10.1 forum.

I feel your pain with the data issues.

I am awaiting my replacement that should come today. Hopefully it operates better than the one I have.

Good luck with getting your BB. If for some reason they won't give you a BB, then I would opt for a 3G android device like the DX. I have heard very good reviews about those.

@Kingnut - Meter must have been high enough for you to reply.

I've had the Droid X for almost two years. It is a superb device. I have had not a single problem with it.

... Thom

I thought it was you that had raved about the solidness of that device, but couldn't remember exactly.

FWIW I have not heard anyone really gripe about that device. I have 2 friends that have them as well and they have no issues either.

I figured if he was going to downgrade to a 3G device, he may as well stay with a superior product in a droid.

Hell, I used my HTC Eris for 3 years before upgrading. I still have it just in case. It was rock solid.

well thanks to you all for the help and ideas. but my torch is on the way. and free extended bat. i was told that all the 4gs are in this boat one way or another. the bionic is the worst, as per tech support. i just cant risk the lost revenues anymore. gotta get the mail or no paycheck. people want answers and my 3g was down is not the one. i will be creeping around. when the 4g gets solid i will be back.

Can't blame someone for having to make a living...

I am sad that you had so many issues, luckily I haven't had a single issue with the Bionic and it has never been a risk of me losing money from it...

Have a good time with your blackberry, they sure as hell don't stop working hahaha.

Verizon should not replace a bionic with a bionic...period!
This device should be pulled entirely and scrapped. All current users should be refunded their purchase price or get a brand new replacement of a similar device. Thats the least Verizon can do.

So if I used that logic, should Toyota replace my Camry with a Corolla since I'm not happy with it?

You do realize there are many people that are perfectly happy with their Bionic, right? Myself, my wife, and 3 other co-workers have had pleasant experiences so far. Of course nothing is perfect though and lemons exist in all products. I've have a number of BSOD and data loss issues here and there. But keep in mind, we live in a world of patches and bug fixes. Try to name one smartphone that had zero issues when released...doesn't exist and probably never will. Until then, I will continue to enjoy my Bionic and look forward to the updates(including OS updates) when they are ready

You might want to think before type when posting knee jerk comments. That's the least you can do...

My previous phone was a DX as well and I can't say enough good things about it. With all the aggravation the Bionic is causing me I am really thinking about just switching back to the DX. 4G don't mean squat when you are constantly unable to get a data connection.

And the black screen of death is getting old too. I have never had a phone before that required an average of 3 battery pulls a day. Getting emails and texts hours late, missing calls. I've about had enough with this piece of junk.

That's very easy for you to say when you aren't missing important communications(emails, texts, calls) and having people get angry with you because the phone in your pocket locked completely up and you were unaware. I have had to develop a habit of taking it out of my pocket every few minutes to check to see if it's still working and if it's getting data. I shouldn't have to do that.

The flaw in your logic is that your Camry works. Her Bionic does not.

ok, i am in sales. car sales. 2 points to trump you,
1-toyota had 2 MAJOR recalls one for cars not stopping and the second for their body on frame , trucks, had an issue with them rusting through the chasis. in both cases the owners were compensated for the issues. some with 95' tacomas were getting up to 5g's back and newer ones were outright replaced.

2-nissan, my brand, also had a rust issue with pathfinders. they were condemned and customers were given 2011 altimas to use for as long as they wanted.

my phone, to liken it to the above statements, has rust. and i should be compensated. today it shut off 2 times again. and of course they sent me the wrong blackberry, so now it will come tomorrow with the bat and back and i get a free ext bat on mon. when big red starts to throw you replacements and free stuff , then you know there is an acknowledged issue.

oh boy i hope you are not talking about me:eek:. 6'1 300 pounds of tattoo'd biker type. far from a her. but if you are i am a pretty her:D

Hahaha!! No! I'm sure your a pretty man, but I was referring to Britney's comment and then Conanbarb's reply.

Congratulations! you got his point.

Its so strange when I see posts like this. My wife and I have had ZERO problems with either one of our bionics. Reading these posts makes me nervous about recommending the bionic to others. This phone is the best we have ever had, and we replace our phones every year. We started with the BB storm, storm 2, OG droid, droid X, then the bionic. This one is the most trouble free phone of them all for the two of us. No dropped calls, no problems with data, incredibly fast speed, no resets, nothing! We both have commented to each other that we finally found a phone that works.

BUT....this is our experience and everyone seems to have a different one.

This makes it really difficult with recommending a phone to friends and family. What works for some doesn't necessarily work for others. The droid X caused the most problems for both of us and yet many people love that phone. Between the two of us we returned the X 6 times. We haven't returned either one of our bionics once.

All I am saying is that its so strange how different people get different results.

Its great to hear good stories of the Bionic. I was very excited when I got mine on the launch day and for a month or so after. However, it really has been downhill since....even further with the recent upgrade. May I ask what part of the country you are in and if you ever roamed with the Bionic?.
thank you.
