Help I am having 2 very odd email problems

Hey all,

I am having a couple of weird issues with my brand new Thunderbolt (stock).

#1
The first is, one of my AOL email accounts keeps saying (and reminding me via a notification) that I have 6 new emails. Even though, all emails are read or old.

The second is, the same account is not actually receiving/updating any new emails, whether I get one, or twenty. I have to go through a browser to see that I have received something.


The odd thing is, my other AOL email account (set up basically the same way) is working completely fine.

On my last Thunderbolt (which was rooted and running BAMF, shortly before it broke and got this new replacement), I was experiencing Problem #2 for the last few days or so.

Any ideas?

Yes, get rid of AOL and stick with gmail...

I am having this same problem with Gmail. I called Verizon and they said it was due to Advanced task killer! They had me remove it, reboot, and viola I was getting email again! But an hour later no more email notifications. I then re-installed task killer and I have been receiving email sporadically.

I do not have, and have never installed, Advanced task killer on this phone.

Are you rooted? try to clear cache... I was having the same issue after i restored a back up of CM7 with gmail and once i cleared the cache everything works fine now

I also have a new Thunderbolt. It was working great for about a week. I have a gmail and a hotmail account that the phone was synching to. Gmail worked great, Hotmail - like some others have described, takes seconds to a minute to re-load mail every time tho I turned off the option. That's an irritation but now I have a RELLY BIG problem.

Notification that my phone's internal memory is low- turns out an application called "mail" is taking up 26GB of space! Nothing else works! This mail account is IN ADDITION to my gamail and hotmail. I don't know what it is, how to get rid of it. When I try to delete it, it requires a factory reset which I don't want tondo! Can someone explain what this mail account is? Thanks
