Root I bricked it!

I bricked my EVO V 4g! I was trying to get S-OFF, and I was successful, but then I typed in this fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 for some stupid reason and now im 100% bricked. The screen wont turn on and when I plug it into my computer I get a diagnostic port (COM 6).

This forum post on Xda explains how to fix it.

But it only supports hboot up to 1.50, and this phone has hboot 1.57.

Is there any hope for my bricked phone?

It's amazing how brick proof some phones have become. The OV is darn near impossible these days.
 
Yeah that was probably the single saving grace to owning the Triumph, easy to root and unbrickable.
 
That's what I get when I plug it in "diagnostics port cm30" 9008 qualcom incorporated .I don't have Linux I start school next month for info tech so ill learn but I wanna fix her now I guess its time to look into Linux
 
yeah, Linux is a must-know. but then again i hold a B.S. in computer engineering, so my programming experience has required it, but nevertheless if you're dealing with Android, you actually ARE using Linux, so learning it is quite useful.
 
Yea. Can I buy a disk and run in on a PC laptop windows vista last time i looked in to Linux I wanted to turn my ps3 to a super computer but Sony updated so I couldn't install other os
 
Ubuntu has a live cd that you can download and have a temporary environment just by booting from the cd if you just want to look around.

This. Download the ISO, burn it, and boot. Or you can make a bootable USB flash drive from the ISO, and run Ubuntu in live CD mode so it never ends up installing anything to your hard drive other than temporary files it needs to run off the USB key or CD.
 
I'm downloading ubuntu now its a out 700 mb I hope this works itried using the unbrick shooter with git but it couldn't lovate the device I guess that's why linux is needed

did he use the unbrick_shooter/ for evo 3d cdma did he have to do anything differant because of hboot 1.57?

can I use a external seagate hdd I saved and downloaded ubuntu but nowhere let's me run I opened it and opened the exe.time but days I already have ubuntu but its and empty folder I'm formating a disk now tho
 
no luck I tried differant terminals ,methods norhing I got the same responce with git bash term on windows I'm just sending it back


I was using ubuntu 12.04 witch I kept on my laptop running side by side with windows but hey I finally got linux so it was my destiny I guess
 
btw before a moderator on here yells, please don't multi-post. just edit your one post and include all the stuff in that. multiposts should only really be used for bumping a thread to my knowledge.
