Root I Broke Busybox

CYNICALifornia

Android Enthusiast
All right. I was trying to install V6 Supercharger after updating my ROM to 2.13 Rooted. Something went wrong and busybox is a goner. SU asks to update it, but can't. TB asks to update it, but can't. TWRP can't restore my last nandroid (when I try to the console says some nonsense about a simulated action).

So, I need busybox, folks.

Where should I get it and how do I install it?

(You'd think I'd know these things by now)

Thanks!

what exactly did you do? and how did you brake it?

you can get it here:
BusyBox

I updated the post to reflect the answer to your question. See the OP. I'm not sure what went wrong, but sometihng did. Maybe in the Busybox updater in V6 script?

That app is unable to install busybox, says it could not verify certain utilities needed for this application.

in twrp can you post exactly what it says? in the middle of the main menu at the bottom there is a catlog function that shows all of the actions twrp was doing. you can even have the log moved to the sd card under advanced. then you can use a file manager to open it up. try restoring a nandroid backup again and then immediately either post what the catlog says or move it to the sd card. then post what you see. (this is purely optional, just curious as to what happened)

you can always wipe only dalvik cache and cache and re-flash your rom. your data will not be touched and it should fix things.

Hang tight . . . trying your suggestions . . .

Alright, on the title bar or TWRP it says 'Simulating Actions"

The catalog says:

Simulating actions
Running boot script

Then nothing happens. Can't clear caches, can't restore nandroid, can't flash a rom.

that is all it says? nothing else? and you get the same message when flashing? or restoring nandroid?

Correct. Every action is proceeded by 'Simulation action' then nothing happens.

Pretty bleak, eh?

I'm looking at doing an RUU then using Lazy Panda again. Do you think this is a good route? Which RUU would you recommend?

By The way, as a fellow hitch hiker, I have a towel handy, and I am staying to to the advice "Don't Panic".

and at least you can use the towel to wipe the sweat away. lol

what hboot do you have?

oh yeah duh------->lazy panda should have seen that coming:o

well a ruu should work. but i do not think it will mess with s-off, but it will mess with your recovery. after the ruu you will need to re-install TWRP. i would use a ruu that does not downgrade your firmware/radios(one way to brick it from what i hear). so find out what radios you have and match it with the appropriate ruu.

So I should retain root using an RUU? Because matching my radio will put me at 1.22, which is not compatible with Panda, right?

Not like I have many options . . .

how did you get the newer radios? did you update them before?

I think so . . . don't really remember.

I've only really run Stock 1.13, rooted 1.22, and rooted 2.13 on my phone. Unless the radio came in the ROM I must have.

Should I not flash the newer radios? I was under the impression they were good.

Alright, I have the RUU for 1.22 (which has the same radio as my phone currently). Do I just plug my phone in and run the .exe?

yep, just make sure usb debugging is turned on.

and you have to flash radios to get them updated or run a ruu, stock rooted roms will not have radios.

ok so i just went into TWRP's IRC channel and posted a question on "simulating actions". and it seems like no one is on from the team. as soon as i get a hit. i will let you know. its kind of late to get help, but hopefully we will get some answers tomorrow.
