Root I can not log into Google Play

Here's the deal, I bought & activated a used HTC M8 phone (this IS a cool phone) but it's rooted with ViperOneM8 2.5.0 - OF COURSE I am glad it's rooted but it won't allow me to log into my Google Play Store. This is the screen I keep getting for the past 7 hours & it is driving me insane becaus I know it's not something I'm doing wrong since I am able to log into the account from every device I try it on.

If someone can help me with this issue I will be the happiest girl in the world. cguru:

I'd check first that Google Play services is enabled in Settings > Apps > All.

If it's showing as enabled then maybe try flashing the PA Pico gapps package from here

I'm not sure exactly whats going on here, I have the exact same screen try to authorize HTC Backup in settings / backup. My phone is Stock Rooted Developers Edition on the newest Android 4.4.4.

It's strange becouse Google Play works fine ..Gmail works fine. Google Plus works it's just the Authorize Server that has the error.

I'll get back with you if I find the solution

Only thing i see so far involves deleting the host file with a root explorer
