Root I could really use some help in rooting my DX with the D2 method

I updated to the new Froyo leak and lost root (I assume)
-I cannot reboot Bootstrap
-Root Explorer and Barnacle do not work
-I still have the Superuser app, but it does not seem to be working

If I am correct that I lost root, I would like to try the Droid2 method
This is where I need help

I have downloaded the SDK and the Moto drivers
I am in PC Mode with USB debugging enabled

My problem is when I get to this line C:\android-sdk-windows\tools> and try adb devices, it says List of devices attached.

That is it. Nothing seems to be attached. If anyone can figure out what I am doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it. I know I shouldn't be the first to jump on new roms and leaks, but you have to learn sometime right?

I also noticed, when I have USB debugging enabled in USB Mass Storage Mode, I have a little droid icon in my notification tray. When I switch to PC Mode the icon goes away. Is this normal?

EDIT:I reloaded the drivers from the phone in USB Mass storage mode and now the device is showing up. Going forward with root

It looks like it worked.
I was pretty nervous

My big problem happened when I tried to reload the Moto drivers and it failed because I already had them. Somehow, this corrupted one of them and PC mode would not work with USB debugging enabled. After reloading all of the drivers from the phone it worked great. Now I know what adb is
