Nice range of opinions expressed in this thread about the relative merits of posting in device forums.
I guess part of the perception differences between members of such a place is that of what "complaining" is vs seeking assistance: it is nearly impossible to seek assistance for an issue without complaining or "griping" about it, as issues and broken devices disappoint us and make us feel bad, so that gets laced in with the request for remedies for said issues, etc.
As an aside, the Prime was mentioned here, and is of course coming along at some point, and there is a Prime sub-forum here with threads on speculation, etc:

Again, good to see this thread come about, the posts herein have served some as a place to vent a bit, and food for thought.
