I dont get it.. What is up with update delay?????

I didn't have any issues with the initial update, I guess I am one of the lucky ones but last week I received the 28mb update and I can tell straight away that battery life is even better. For instance the other day at work I typically unplugged my charger around 5am and went through the day with probably a few minutes browsing, few texts and a couple of calls and when I returned home around 4.30 pm my battery was on 94%!
Since the update the battery has been amazing, but like I say, it wasn't bad before.

My battery life was never as good as it was on the Note 2, but enough to continue my daily routine. Seems like issue i had was a unique occurrence

You talked about carrier. Those aren't. Those are just independent shops. Doubt they have anything to do with software updates.

They don't, your right. I assumed you were requesting where you could get a SIM free, unlocked, stock SM-N9005 which would work on any network and be totally free from any networks (carriers) "messing about with" firmware wise.

Well I bit the bullet and upgraded last Wednesday. All good so far. Battery life is actually better, it feels 'snappier' and it works as well as it always has.

I can't help thinking most of the reported problems are with carrier firmwares for the non International Note 3s. The Exynos variants seem to be suffering terribly when it comes to KitKat.

This isn't good for users of Samsung, particularly in the USA where if you say name a Smartphone the majority of people will say an iPhone. I blame the carriers, not Samsung or KitKat, why they have to mess with things so much with their users devices when it comes to updates is frankly appalling.

I totally agree with this.

Can you still automatically store pictures on your SD card?

I received the Kitkat update on my GN3 for T-Mobile last week. I haven't had any battery issues or problems with my SIM card. In fact, I have seen a (small) boost in performance and longer battery life.

Can you still automatically store pictures on your SD card?
If the camera owns a folder on the SD card, it can store pictures there, but if you then try to use another app to delete a picture, or move a picture from somewhere else into that folder, you can't. Kit Kat basically enforces Linux' 'you need the correct permissions' to the SD card. It's probably going to make a few changes in how we do things, and devs are going to have to make some changes to some apps, but it should have always been this way.

Do you want that great new editor you just installed to have access to everything on your SD card and email it to the developer? I just wish they had done it the right way - use ext3 on the card instead of FAT32. A couple of programs and an app would have changed older cards and allowed computers to handle it.

So that I a pita to me. I often move files back and forth from SD using a file manager app (not rooted). What good is an SD card you can't access? I may be forced to root just to avoid this update. Sounds like iPhone file management.
