...I get most of my news from Comedy Central :p

And yes I do watch The Daily Show/Colbert Report

The only TV news I get is from Comedy Central, but I still regularly read the news from many sources.

The state of the "mainstream" media is dismal in general, but the TV news just seems a lot worse, especially the 24 hour news channels.

I agree, I can't remember the last time I watched CNN, msnbc, etc for that very reason.
 
Most things I see on the news is depressing. The local news always leads with a few stories of people dying in car crashes, fires and stuff like that. If it bleeds, it leads. I find that the stories that I am actually interested in watching usually start about 15 minutes into the news.

At least with The Daily Show and Cobert Report, I don't get depressed watching them and I get informed as well. I only wish there were a local news version of these shows.
