I am using videocon mobile and I switched off my mobile and after sometime I powered on it and I saw that a privacy password was to be entered to unlock my phone but I don't know what is my privacy password so what can I do to unlock it. Please suggest some thing
Privacy code or anti-theft code is a proprietary security software made by MediaTek for most mtk based phones and is stored in the Nvram of the phone so it doesn't get lost even with a factory reset.
Ways to unlock:
Send #mima# from the "trusted" phone number to the SIM card inside the phone. This trusted phone number is set when setting up the code
Format the phone and reinstall the stock ROM. Do not try this on the new mtk "secure chips"as the phone will brick and am not talking about the soft brick you restore with flashing the stock ROM, no I'm talk hard brick the type only the manufacturer or anyone with the .Auth file, which is very hard to come by, can restore. good luck with that
Also option 2 will damage the imei of the phone so be prepared to rewrite it
If you can get or build the TWRP for the phone, which sounds hard but the good folks at hovatek.com made a programme to automate it, you can read the Nvram of the phone and search for the part having a 15-16 digit number starting with 89*** and replace that entire section with 00000 not just the 89*** code but the entire section, Nvram is mostly 000000... Anyways then flash the file back to the phone and the code is gone
Backup the nvram of another phone of the same model, the exact same model and flash to the phone and then factory reset the phone
Option 4 is the longest and most technically demanding but also the surest method. If it looks raw that's because I discovered it myself not copied or learnt and also all of these options will definitely void your warranty so at your own risk
