Help I got my phone wet, BUT...

Hey so here's my situation,

I recently got my samsung galaxy s5 active a little bit water damaged. The phone keeps shutting off because it is over heating. Now I called AT&T and they are sending me a new phone and I have to send the old one in. Now I know normally the warranty is void if there is water damage, but the water damage indicator is not red on the phone. Do you think they will be able to tell? and will I still be responsible for the damage if they do?

You could get lucky if they don't take it apart and find water damage inside

I believe the S5 has a moisture indicator internally, but tbh if the external one hasn't tripped I think it unlikely that this one will have.
