I got the update!

Under Settings --> Wireless & networks --> Mobile networks: There is a setting for "Network mode" with options under a pull-down of "LTE/CDMA" and CDMA only". I may have to make a tread for this one!

I finished the update. I read on this thread that there is a few Easter eggs. I wonder what else is new.

Still waiting for Gingerbread.

Guys, make sure under:
Settings,
Wireless & Networks,
mobile networks,
network mode.
.that you have LTE/CDMA enabled.
It is a new setting.

I used to get solid 4G in my house. Now I get solid 3G in my house. Wtf?

Looks like i will have to factory wipe. I had to do factory wipe for the first MR1 upate and that cured all my ills.

Did you check what I posted above?

yes

EDIT: I also get 4G in my home but it cycles to 3G and stays on 3G more than 4G. Thats the problem im having.

In my home Before the update: 4G Service 95% of the time. 3G Once in a while

In my home after update: 4G Service about 30% of the time, 3G service 70% of the time. Dont get it.

Like I said I will factory reset tonight or tomorrow to clear it up. It is a good idea to factory reset after an update anyway.

Downloading now. Interesting that it is using 4G even though I have wifi enabled. Why would they waste the bandwidth?

...just heard my phone reboot (its in the other room on a charger).

Edit: it was just an alert that the download was done. Only took mine about 5 minutes to download.

Not exactly a new setting, just new that it's "easily" accessible. This same function can be obtained by opening your phone, and keying in *#*#4636#*#* and changing the drop down menu there.

So just out of curiosity I checked for updates after installing this update. Now I get an icon in the tray and the words "OTA Device Management" next to it. This is new to me, anyone else? Also it seems to respond very fast with a response, which of course currently is the "No New Software Update Available."

I just got my TB on July 7th. (I've previously avoided VZW due to phone crippling and garden walling.)

I haven't had any problems with my TB yet and my philosophy is if it ain't broke don't fix it.

So I'd like to defer this update. If it were GB I'd be jumping.

Is there a way to block the update, or does it ask to do one and you just say "no?"
