I have a pre-release Galaxy Nexus

Not really sure where is the best place to post this comment - hopefully the mods will pick up on this. Can I just say a massive thanks to everyone on here for sharing my content and sharing my excitement. I have had an incredible number of views on my vids and it all started here. From this forum the content has gone onto Phandroid's front page, Droid-Life and probably a number of other places I haven't realised / seen. Glad I got to give you guys a really early unbagging on the streets of Exeter (its had over 29,000 views now!) - I certainly was getting a couple of wierd looks!

thanks for all of your posts. we could all tell you were having a lot of fun doing the videos. but what's with all of the sandwiches? why no shots of some proper fish and chips for all us yanks?

Could you please try setting up your gmail account as an Exchange account. Here are the setting:

Domain/Username: google/username@gmail.com
Exchange Server: m.google.com

I tried this on my orginial Galaxy Tab 7" and the mail app was able to retrieve my mail. And I'm able to view my email. Some of the email has the "Load More details" button and I get the "Message Fetch Error, Try Again Later" error when clicked.

Will I have the same problem in ICS?

LOL, I was just terrified you were going to drop it on the concrete right then and there!

To be quite honest they are both stunning displays. The Nexus is Full HD but not Super AMOLED plus whereas the GSII is Super AMOLED plus but not HD. Personally I don't think there is a massive difference between the two - both are really good according to me.

There really isn't any comparison. Saw a close-up comparison shot earlier and the Galaxy Nexus screen made the SG II look like shit..

Edit - Here it is:

I don't know if this has been asked already but how's the sound quality from the head phone jack? And i noticed in other videos and pictures that the music app has an EQ now, is it user adjustable or all presets? I use my iphone 4 as my main dap and this is a really big deal to me. Thanks.

Andrew, thanks so much for reporting on your new Galaxy Nexus!

Two quick questions:

1. Does it have a wifi hotspot feature?
2. Does it have some sort of swype-like keyboard?

Thanks,

--Jim--

Having used the Galaxy Note and now the nexus which would say is the better all round device for someone with minimal voice usage and higher data based usage i.e. mail web social media etc. The reason i ask is i have tested the Note and really enjoyed it but i am thinking i will prefer the nexus even more. I will be getting a decent play tomorrow and may even get one. was just interested in your Opinion

P.S. thanks for all the vids they were really informative and quite entertaining.

P.P.S. Where do i find out about becoming a Mobiler as i would love to get involved as i currently work in the phone industry (O2 Guru) and think i would be good at it.

Thank you Andrew. The videos were great and were bromantically funny!!!
Im curious to see how the led notification light works and if it changes colors with different types of notifications???

To be honest its down to personal choice. The Note is more powerful processor-wise (1.4Ghz rather than 1.2Ghz) but its going to come down to size. With the note you cannot easily walk and text / surf using one hand. With the Nexus you can. It all comes down to size. The Note only just fits into my jeans pocket whereas the Nexus isn't as big and feels nicer to carry in pocket. So in short - look at both and see which is right size-wise. ICS will probably end up on the Note at some point anyway.

RE: Mobilers -if they accept any more people onto the scheme it will be advertised on the SamsungUK page.

No Swype (as its officially a Google product - but just manufactured by Samsung). Yes to portable Wifi hotspot (also has Wifi direct)

Does the face unlock feature work when someone is wearing glasses?

Face unlock isnt particularly strong. Often fails when not level with face or if I am pulling a funny face. If you wear glasses it probably wont recognise you if you are wearing them when your face recognition pic doesnt feature you wearing them

Any more questions guys please tweet me on Twitter (@andrewmcsweeney). That way I can get one of my fellow Mob!lers to answer the question if I don't know. Thanks
