Root I have a question about setcpu app

i have a huawei ascend. i downloaded setcpu app but don't really know how to use it that good. i was wondering if you guys could give me details on how to use it and save battery and how does it really work. My carrier is cricket, phone is rooted; z4. thank you for the help

In the settings you can change how your overclock is ran. I personally use the on demand preset. This way when I'm not using my phone extensively it will underclock the phone which saves battery.

i just rooted and downloaded it also. i have it on the default ondemand setting. the upper bar is at 600mhz and the bottom bar is at 245mhz.

should i leave them set there?

I also just installed SetCPU but it has so many settings ... I'm not sure what to do.

I just left it at the 'standard' settings (for now) but it would be nice if someone explained it some or even wrote a guide.
