Root I have a question about the EVO 4g (help please?)

I've been looking into buying this phone. I would love to get it, but I was wondering if Metro pcs could fully flash it to thier network and it will work properly.
I don't want to spend all this money on the phone and then it won't work completley.

Has anyone had this done before? I know people can do it thierselves, but I'm not tech savvy so I'll eff it up. anyways, does anyone know if this could work or not?
