He put me on hold a few minutes. When he came back on the line he started explaining to me what an OTA was and that HTC pushes out the update, not Verizon and that he was told it would be out by the end of the summer. I, of course, started asking questions and pushing back but he was clearly very confused. I asked him about the verizon twitter ID. I honestly think he doesn't know what Twitter is. This guy was very clueless.

EDIT: Figured I'd call a store. They confirmed that it's going out in batches starting today.

What did u expect? I hate to say it but I find most Verizon employees completely under qualified to answer any questions regarding tech. I have had discussions with branch managers that have not impressed me, in most cases I can usually outshine most of them. I went to the apple store with my best friend (He's a apple fan-boy) and I don't know if its always the case but WOW this particular csr that was assisting him was impressively brilliant with vast knowledge on anything and everything apple. Their hiring process is obviously more involved.

I received the exclamation mark in a triangle notification for about 3 seconds after unlocking my phone earlier but I think it was my DINC *ucking with me.

no, that's part of the OTA ... it checks your phone to see if it will support the upgrade. Yours failed. That's what that icon means. Sorry

guy asked vzw on twitter about dinc, they responded!

anyone tried contacting HTC since verizon said they are sending it out and seeing if they could push it to your phone by giving them your phone number. long shot but who knows
 
in all my years with smartphones and smartphone forums (which I love and depend on dearly!)... this is, without a doubt, the funniest, saddest and greatest thread ever.
 
Awww..that's mean. Nothing here in Orange County, CA. I was looking at the PDF at VZW's site and it doesn't mention fixing bluetooth. Is my husband ever going to be able to use it with his BMW?

I really doubt that Verizon allows HTC onto their network to push software that Verizon has modified onto verizon phones. That's far fetched.
 
i was just at the verizon store paying my bill. they told me they dont have the software in their store or a way to get it send to my phone when i was there . HTC is the one that pushes it out. they could be wrong but thats what i was told an hour ago.

What's wrong with the bluetooth? I have mine synced fine . . . phone calls and streaming music work beautifully. Just curious.

HTC send Verizon code. Verizon tests it and adds their bloatware to the build. Verizon then pushes it OTA. HTC has no way to push an update over the VZW network.
