If you read some of the other threads you will see that there are people posting something to do with the 2.2 update. This(you thread) info has been covered. You would have come to the conclusion that your thread was not necessary. All I am saying is take a little bit of time to read a few pages of what you might think may have this type of info. The mods are constantly merging/locking threads that are repeating info. There are two right now that are basically the same.

I think this discussion should end. There are 2 threads going on talking about the 2.2 update. And this one started off with a poll asking if you got the OTA with two ridiculous answers. The title of the thread is totally misleading too. Nobody on this forum has seen an update yet.

I was going to *gulp* make a new thread and specify for NOBODY to post, unless they actually have the update. And ask mods to enforce it

But then i imagined the million "oh god where are the mods" and "ahh shit not another one" type posts, completely defeating the purpose of the thread.

AS far as I know, in the OTA, you will be unable to use the included Mobile Hotspot application without buying a plan from Verizon to tether (like $20/mo, i think).

Would it be possible to grab the .apk for the hotspot application for the Nexus One? That would circumvent Verizon's system, correct?

Because there have been close to a dozen threads started on this topic in the last 24 hours and they have all been either merged or locked.

All we are doing by not taking a minute to search is creating more work for the mods to keep this place organized. There must be hundreds of posts with links to the vzw installation instructions, Twitter announcement, etc...
