OK, I confess, I'm depressed...I tried the date trick, the VLR, the checkin method, you name it. Update'll probably hit just as I leave on a road trip this weekend and don't want my phone communications disrupted.

I think they have it out for us in WA. I know 3 people who have an INC and none of us have received an update.

I hear ya. Some in Seattle seem to have been lucky. A friend here in town and one in Tacoma are still waiting like me.

Well, I tried the update.zip method a few times and got the Error 7. Looks like I was missing the minor May 2010 OTA (bought my phone 2 weeks ago). I applied that update first, and now I'm currently installing Froyo from using the update.zip method. Will post again once I'm up and running!

also waiting in PA, dont know anyone with an incredible so every time someone says "I GOT THE UPDATE NOTIFICATION!!! WOOOOOHOOO!!!!!" it makes me a little more anxious.

I tried it and it loaded nicely. A gallery of flash for mobile. Guess it works.

I'm the same way on AppBrain... says there is an update but it doesn't do anything. Sh*t or get off the pot is what's going through my mind when something is trying to do something, then just sits there...

Finally saw the notice this morning in Jackson Heights, NY. Ran it but it was stuck on the screen with android and a yellow triangle with "!" in it for over an hour.
That should've been a sign for me to stop but no, I had to play with 2.2 since I waited so long for the stupid OTA.
Downgraded then got update zip installed. Now I don't want it anymore. Can't go back to 2.1 where root worked and so did tether and pdanet. I miss not having bloatware and my free tether and hot spot.
I was dying for 2.2, now I'm dying for Unrevoked Froyo!
Anybody wanna trade a 2.2 for a 2.1?

Once installation is complete, the update.zip file is no longer needed - so yes you can delete it!

Rec'd the message early this morning and updated. Wish I could still use the Menu key to unlock screen though. Also all programs are getting "killed" when I use Advanced Task Killer. I have to go into the actual program and quit there - a little annoying.

same thing happened to me... it failed on the install reboot and now it won't update. I'm going to wait through the weekend

worst case, if it doesn't come back, then do the zip file update. it is official and signed. check out some of the update.zip threads for more info
