Help I have some questions about installing CM7/9

Seems simple enough. My only question is where do I create this cminstall folder?

Did you read through the guide. This is what is in it:

Now you are going to create a folder called cminstall. Boot into WebOS and connect your TouchPad to your PC
with the usb cable and open Windows Explorer on your PC.

NOTE: Connecting a TouchPad to one's PC in WebOS will pop open a window on the TouchPad. Select "Connect via USB".

You will see the TouchPad as a drive with a drive letter. Create a folder named cminstall and copy the nightly.zip, Moboot 0.3.8.zip,
ClockworkMod.zip and Gapps.zip into it.

Come on guy, I know this is not easy for a first timer, but you are making harder for yourself.

this seems quite easy , and i have now done it , but it did require deleting and setting up the folder in the touchpad called cminstall twice, and downloading a different version of gapps for it to work, so it isn't quite a a walk in the park for a novice, but not THAT hard... and i did follow the instructions to the letter...see my post above , it only worked when i deleted the entire folder from the touchpad and started from scratch , again following the instructions....

All that said its nice to effectively have a pretty quick "free" android tablet that will get apps / updates and be usable for the family !!!!!!

I've never had trouble installing, except when acme was expecting the first part of files to be named "update". Possibly you had a space at the end of cminstall or had it capitalized. Android file names are case-sensitive so a folder called Cminstall would not work.

I forgot to add the word update to the gapps file name so when I boot into CM9, I don't see Google Apps anywhere.

How can I fix this? Is there a quick fix or do I need to run AcmeUninstaller and start all over again?

Don't uninstall, it's a simple fix.

You could boot into recovery (CWM at start) and find your gapps file and flash it OR connect to your computer, rename your gApps file and run acme again.

Whichever is easier for you.
