I also spent an hour on the phone with VZW and ended up downloading Media Manager. You don't have to run the program, but apparently, it acts as a driver so that the computer can recognize the phone again. Once I downloaded Media Manager and then did a *228 on my phone (option 2), then the next time I plugged my SF in I had the option to mount like before the stupid update. I've had some strange issues since updating. You might also want to check out the thread: Verizon's Fascinate Update Page
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I downloaded the media manager, dialed *228 selected option 2 (to "update my roaming" whatever that means).

Still no USB in my notification bar when I plug in USB cable.

Actually, check that. It is working now. It must have needed some time to recognize the updates roaming, or whatever the heck it was I did when I call Verizon. I'm getting good USB connection now and ability to mount as before.

Thanks!!!

Hmmm, Stock SF in Eastern PA and still no update available. I think they don't like me?

Of course, maybe they know that I wasn't having any of the problems that they were fixing other than finding the buttons in the dark. I just feel left out...

if you're ok with everything else (gps included), I would pass on the update if I were you:D ...seriously

Hey everyone,

I'm on a family member's (clean phone) right now, and I can't get the OTA update. My sis has a completely clean SF, no root - NOTHING! and she got the DL09 update no problem.

My bro, on the other hand, was running Dirrk's super old EXT2 lagfix (which I removed), root access, no CWM, and all bloat restored (bing included). Everytime I try to check for updates, it says: server unavailable, error code 500.

I tried going on 3G rather than wifi, dialing *228 - option 2, and cleared Innopath update's cache/data and to no avail unfortunately.

Am I doing something wrong? How can I get this bloody update? Thanks!

There still must be something not squared away...,i would odin his phone to stock dio1 with the all in one file...,you should then receive the update...,although he will loose data....but i suppose that's the price he has to pay for not making a clean backup

anyone notice a reduction in signal since the update? I used to ALWAYS have a signal at my desk at work and now its about 50/50 where I have NO SIGNAL 50% of the time.

That signal percentage issue is reported all over the devices, but I've not seen it in my Eris or Fascinate.

Fwiw, my dbm went from an average of about 85 to about 78 following the update. Nice gain.

Thanks nitsu I'll probably just flash djo5 instead of just getting the ota from verizon

yeah the ota is far more problematic than an odin flash/push

even the dl09 odin is more reliable than the update for the root crowd, as you have to do adryns cwr fix to not loose recovery after the ota

Weird. Rooted and just saw this thread and realized the update was never pushed to me so I checked for new updates and see it. Almost 2 weeks after the thread started and it wasn't pushed to some people? Does this confuse anyone else?

You can be rooted and still get it, clockwork is what keeps the root crowd from getting it not root itself

I see, I have clockwork I guess that's why it didn't push the update to my phone. I wonder why clockwork prevents the update from being pushed to the phone. In any case, after reading more about it, this DL09 update is not worth it for me.

i cant speak to this phone per say....but other phones with clockwork will allow you to "pull" the update...but it will brick or abort upon attempting to install as its the not the recovery that the update is expecting

if you've deleted/renamed bloatware, thats also why you wouldnt be able to download the update

Update still not available to my stock phone. I don't know that I would load it if it were available since I only want the bottom buttons to stay lit, but I do feel left out.

My build number is: SCH-I500.DH12

Is your phone rooted? Have you modded your phone at all?

Wow, you're actually two updates behind...you should have received DI01 months ago.

Just got my SF today (stock, no rooting or mods) and while the GPS seems to work fine, i still want the update to DL09 as I was sent a phone with DI01 on it...I went to the update button, etc but still shows no update for the phone...
I am in NC by the way...any suggestions or info?

Just got this phone also! Love it! But, I too, think I have an old version without any newly update. Can someone help?

Model - SCH-I500
Firmware - 2.1-update1

I know this isn't uptodate. I just wanted some suggestions on if its worth updating. If I update, what changes can I expect? Thanks!

2.1 update is "officially" where the verizon fascinate is supposed to be :)
