I LOVE my Galaxy SII!

Since the dawn of humanity, people tend to concentrate on the negative... One dead fly spoils the whole bottle of champagne. Every time I got my hands on a new smartphone, I used to find enough downsides and issues and things that left me unsatisfied, or plain mad.

Until I got my hands on the Galaxy SII.

I know that there are many threads talking about issues and stuff like battery drain and SoD (I tasted some of that myself), but OVERALL, I have never been that much satisfied with a gadget, I have it for over a month now and I am still beaming with joy! I simply can't find anything bad about it.

Battery- For the first time in my life, a smartphone that doesn't die on me on my way home. It easily lasts over 12 hours with moderate use, and I never expected something like that from such overpowered phone with such huge screen!

Dimensions- Every time one of my iPhone 4-wielding-iSheep-buddies picks up this phone, I can see them shocked even before they get to unlock the screen. I am still amazed when I hold it with no case on. It is ridiculously thin and light.

Screen- Some claim the resolution is too low. iPhone fans brag about their retina display invisible pixels, and well, yes, the screen could use a higher resolution. but I'm not holding it against my nose, I hold it 10~20 cm from my face, and I don't see no pixels, all I see is a clear, bright, contrastive, HUGE screen.

Power- Since I started using a system monitoring app coupla weeks ago, the CPU usage haven't crossed the 30% line once, not a single time.
I don't know what the future holds for the smartphone platform- But I'm damn sure that we are perfectly equipped for it!

Honestly, the only thing that bugs me is the lack of a physical camera key ;)
May this post be a beacon of positivity to remind other users who might experience some temporary issues, or who simply "got used to it" :P
Gentlemen, we have the best smartphone to date :)

I wish I were in your shoes! Still patiently waiting for the USA release! I've already purchased an Otterbox Commuter Case and a Case Mate Touch Case for my future phone. All I need now is the friggin phone! Have a great time with your new device.

yup, its an impressive phone. good to hear ur battery expectations were not high. coz everyone else was extremely disappointed with the 12-14 hours they're getting with this phone. me included. its the only thing i wish would be improved with a firmware update or something. that and the lockscreen lag

Yeah, its truly the most breathtaking phone I've seen and owned. As for the battery I couldn't be happier. It'll last me two full days of moderate use, but that may be because I rooted it and took off all the bloatware. S2 ftw!

Completely agree, I love my s II. I have contracts currently, one which is about to end in a few months (nexus S) and of course my new contract which is galaxy S II. Out of all the phones iv owned, IPhones, nexus, galaxy this is the best phone iv had. Owned it for about a month and I'm still overjoyed to use it, there's so many little things that I love about the phone that I could talk about all day such as how I can send an instant text message If I can't answer, or how I can easily switch off services like Bluetooth and wifi with just a swipe.

But the biggest thing that keeps me impressed is speed and the browser experience. Now let's be honest, have you EVER had a browser experience (with flash) that has been this fast? It's not even a case of speed anymore this really is the fastest a browser can go, it's just unreal, I actually look forward forward to using the Internet now instead of try to avoid it or look for work arounds (apps) because of how slow/sluggish the browser experience is!

LoVe the phone man, LoVe it! ( :

Yes, I still look forward for an improvement in battery life, but I am actually satisfied with a phone that I can count on to last a day on a single charge, with moderate+ use.
Most people charge their phones over night, whether they end up at 30% or 5%... So to make any real diffrence, the phone has to get you through the day with more or less 50% battery left, only then you'll be confident enough to ditch it somewhere around the house before you go to bed with no regrets :P
But I don't think it is neccesary... Afterall, unless you're out camping or partying all night, you will have a power source around.

When it comes to heavy use (screen on for long periods of time), the screen is the thing that kills the battery... and I don't see how far a firmware update could improve it.

yeah, thats true.. it needs to improve a lot more for me to get more than a days use out of it. best case, ive had around 20% remaining at around 11pm.. about 15 hours use. that'd barely last the night in idle. so overnight charging is a must..

however, ive seen people getting very good usage out of it by using custom roms. and others by turning off some features like auto sync, etc. n have got over 2 days, some have even got 5 days! so its not just the screen thats doing it. i wish a stock rom would be able to match wat a custom rom does..
