Coming from an inferior network (at&t) and phone (samsung captivate). When making the switch I promised myself never another Samsung phone. However everything about this phone was appealing. I have only had it for 3 weeks now but I am blown away by everything from the display to ICS. Sure the battery could be better but with the extended battery I can pull 12 to 13 hrs with very moderate use. So far no random reboots, no call issues, and the switch from 3g to 4g and vice versa takes about 15-25 seconds. Wifi to data instantaneously. So in liue of all the threads with dissapointment and people questioning if this is the phone for them I can whole heartedly recommend it!
 
I love mine :)

My only two dings and they're small

1. I wish the signal strength was a little better. (although the 4.04 radios I installed last week seemed to have helped with that)

2. I wish the camera took better pics. (although I'm interested in what the new camera app in 4.04 is like)

So I give the phone a 98 out of a 100 :P
 
After updating the radio ROM and ICS to 4.0.4 I've got no problems at all. (I don't take pictures often so I haven't had a chance to test that this week.) I LOVE my phone too and I'll love it more in 20 minutes when I have it running BackTrack!
 
Yeah, you can count me in for being a GNex lover. BIG time.

Crashumbc: Try one of the third party camera apps. Camera Effects in the Market has a slick interface... but honestly... just try to work with the factory app. Once you get the hang of it, you can get great pictures with it.

Battery life I just live with. If I may make an analogy, I drive a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with big Kevlar M/T tires. It is an extreme performance vehicle. I do not expect it to get great gas mileage. I look at my phone the same way.

Translation: Yes, indeed. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is an excellent mobile device, and I am quite pleased with it.

There was a mention in the Galaxy Note thread on XDA about a similar issue that watching a youtube video wouldn't show it.

Also there is no doubt that lower resolution and compression artifacts show it more, so watching a super high bitrate 1080p source isn't really a good way to reproduce it.

If TV/movies were available in near-bluray-quality 1080p bitrates, then it wouldn't be an issue. But 1-2 Mbps 720p content is going to show the artifacts for sure. There are a number of samples you can view to check on your phone. The gamma thing does vary slightly device-to-device, and you have to ensure you're watching with the proper conditions, too (e.g. watching in a pitch black room). Samples to try here:
