Help I loved my Note 2 -- then dropped it: help on screen replacement req.

X2. The digitizer is fused to the lcd from the factory. It would be a lot easier, and probably come out a lot better if you purchase a digitizer/lcd combo already fused together. More money but it will come out good.

Squaretrade does not cover lost or stolen phones. Thats the only down side. The up side is, with my coupon I got a 2 year warranty with accidental damage included for $85. $100 deductible. And the best part? I send them the remains of my clumsiness, and they send me a check for the retail price. I have always been happy with them.

I just dropped my Galaxy Note 2 and shattered the screen everything still works but I'll be making an asurion claim. Some of you have said $100 for the deductible and others have said $200 . Does anyone know forsure what it is ..

A friend actually dropped my phone and he gave me $100 to cover my deductible and bought me some drinks . I'm hoping it's only $100

Did you have it in a case, and I don't mean beer case :D If so, which case and how did it fall down?

No case and about 5 feet onto a rough concrete floor . It had two small cracks on the top right of the screen but have spidered out a bit . Phone still works perfectly including the s pen

I love this Phone, but I dropped mine about two feet. Landed on a corner and split the screen straight up the middle. I was in my wife's car and I had tucked my phone down under my leg, when I got out the phone dropped. I am really surprised because I had a Samsung Moment I must have dropped 50 times and not so much as a scratch. I'll have to live with it for now though. I want to replace it but I just can't justify the expense.

There is a guy on Ebay doing it for about $115 after shipping. That is replacing the outer glass only. If the LCD is also broken he says that is more but no specifics.

I have a case of my Note 2 but little good it did. Not the case's fault really. If the phone had landed any other way it would have been OK.

Pulled the phone out of my jacket pocket and it proceeded to hit a gravel driveway. The glass couldn't have landed more flatly on large, jagged gravel. My heart sank but when I picked it up, no sign of damage to the glass.

I keep a small bottle of lens cleaner and a microfiber cloth in the car. I cleaned the glass and notice an ever so tiny blemish on the glass. I sprayed the glass again and with near zero downward pressure, I cleaned the glass again. As I was gently wiping, that's when I heard the familiar sound of glass cracking. Da*n !

The is a near-perfect super-fine crack running horizontally across the glass and continues over the 'frame' on both sides. The crack lines up perfectly under the Home screens. Other than the glass, there isn't anything else broken and all aspects of the device works fine.

Called Samsung and they quoted a replacement glass price of $179.

Glad I have insurance, the repair looks like it is very difficult to get just right.

The repair isn't as hard as it looks. If you have a look around on youtube and take your time to understand the steps you'll get it done
