Help I made the move, got my sensation but no email alert ?

I finally made the move. Phone works great except for email alerts from Gmail. I set it up in IMAP , and then set up it through exchange/active sync. But I have to actually be in the email app and refresh it for me to see new incoming mail ? Frustrating to say the least. I am missing something.

I would like it where someone sends me an email, my phone either buzzes or chimes with a new email alert when on standby.

any suggestions?

I got it to work. I opted to check and verify my accounts and sync settings, and then restarted the phone. Boom! we're up!

Now the fun the begins !! woo hoo !!! Android Fever is blazing..

If you have Gmail you should use the specific Gmail app, not the other mail client
