I may cancel ...but where would i go???

1.5 mb tethering is unnaceptable with the atrix on att and who knows how long before real 4g comes.

I just speedtested a galaxy s at tmobile at 8.5 mb down in my city ....

My girlfriends samsung epic on sprint gets 5.5 mb down .....

...

what other options do i have??? approximately 20 days to decide before 30 day buyers remorse law in cali runs out...

I'm returning mine for a Thunderbolt from Verizon. Not sure when it's coming out, but should be within the next few weeks.

I completely agree with the speeds not be acceptable. Pretty pathetic that ATT can market this phone as 4G.

It is 4G capable, you guys need to wait for the HSPA+ backhaul coming the end of this month. Then you'll see the 4G speeds that were advertised.

Thunderbolt is supposed to drop by March 10th. If not LG Revolution on Verizon LTE is around the corner in March.

As for the Atrix... I really wanted to like the phone. However, I'm not getting myself locked into a 2 year contract while waiting for 4G to come.... which may (or may not) come until the end of this year.

Backhaul.... is there a legit date anywhere??? its quite the mistake to stay with att if it doesnt come for 6 months. I need instant gratification....

Droid bionic is rumored for verizon soon...that caught my eye...looks exactly like the atrix except it has half of the ram at 512.

verizons speeds are waaaaaaay above everyone elses from what ive read. In my area ive tested att, tmobile and sprint. Att is unacceptable, tmobile is ok, and sprint passes my test...however faster speeds excite me :) I tether a lot.

thunderbold is tempting... it only lacks the dual core.... anyone have any idea how much that impacts the phones performance ?

I used to get better speeds on 3G on my iphone 4 than any Verizon or Tmobile phone. Now with my Atrix 4G, down speeds are good and I can't say that about my upload speeds.

That's because At&t's 3G (not even their "4G") is typically somewhat faster than Verizon's 3G. However, VZW's LTE will most likely beat At&t's "4G."

so sad... i just speeedtested my atrix... 2.2mbps down....
samsung galaxy s 4g did 8.5 mbps down earlier today about a block away from my house...

ugh...

damn you att

Jesus what are you guys using to speed test? I get like 1Mb down 800jb UP with my atrix....

edit: just retested at 1.4MB down, 340kb up....then again at 2mb down 281kb up...wtf lol

I still think it's funny I was getting 2Mb down and up on my Dell Streak, and now getting crappy speeds with the Atrix. The Atrix is using the same sim as the Streak, we just swapped them in the store when I changed phones. I know it's software in the phone doing the throttling, it's just annoying.

Nonsense, I just recently saw a video with the Thunderbolt getting around 5Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up. Theoretical speeds are going to differ greatly from realistic speeds. My rooted Inspire running CM 7 is already seeing those exact same speeds on 3G with HSUPA enabled. When HSPA+ is up & running with the backhaul, we will be seeing comparable real world speeds to Verizon's LTE.

What some of you don't really realize is that no matter how long it takes, if there's one company out of all of them that has the infrastructure to upgrade their network, its AT&T.

Man, I gotta learn more about this root stuff cause that's great results. My Inspire ended up getting taken back cause the download speeds sucked so bad.
