Root I may have figured out rebooting issue, Esteem

its a when ever dealio, I got work at 5am, so I am almost ready for bed, but sometime before the weekend would be best, I wouldnt have it ready to show to LGE tomorrow but i sure will see what the problem with the reboot is my only question is how long have you had your esteem? what date is under your battery?

is it stock zvc, rooted, I need non rooted firmwares, to test,

I have had the phone for two weeks and the date on the phone is 1/2012. The phone is stock, I wanted to keep it stock to see if I would reboot or not.

EDIT: Meant to post before but I noticed I am on Hardware Version: Rev.1.1 I noticed from pictures posted on the forums is running Rev.1, so there had to be a hardware change somewhere....

yeah i have 1.0 thats awesome, i wonder if that really is why you haven't experienced any reboots... :D
 
MAJOR BUMP
This is a possible fix to the random rebooting issues a lot of people have with there Esteem. If you are experienceing the reboot issue whether it be Version B or C your information is valuable. Help out your fellow forum er:D

Please provide your hardware version prior to agreeing to test this.

i've tested it & my phone has not rebooted in 2 days :D .
 
Posted already.... I'm on revision 1.0 as well. Unmanned reboots have stopped. I never make it more than a few days without manually rebooting to flash something tho.

We can't tell you what to do on your phone as any mod you want to make a backup before hand you can test to see if it helps you if you don't want too you don't have too but we are not the owner of your phone

I had a reboot today. Not sure what the cause was. Marginal 4g area ... kept switching to 1x. I was installing a small app when the phone became extremely sluggish and rebooted. I'm willing to blame it an app or kernel.
 
honestly i would like to test this but currently i have 2 reasons why i can't :(

1. im constantly reflashing mod's and themes to my device so settings will never stay applied..
2. not sure if its because of the first reason but i havent had a reboot in a while lol..

i only get 4g at my house and im barely there so that could be why as well...
 
it rebooted today like 3 times , dont know why though as i haven't done any changes or installed new apps.. i guess its back to square one. this phone makes me just wanna leave metro all together but i hate contracts. LG really needs to step up their game & fix this asap ! :mad:

Lol i went through hell after finally getting my last one and no more rebooting but i feel your pain

yeah am on my third esteem & i dont plan to get a 4th, either they fix it or am getting another phone, might even get an iphone. i like androids but this phone just makes me lose faith in them.
 
It seems like there are multiple different reasons for the reboots. This fix has worked pretty good for me. Just 1 reboot in 3 days. I'm good with that...
