Lurker
I just got my first smartphone and figgered just plugging the USB into my desktop would allow me to transfer music, pix, whatever. But neither my mac or PC will talk to it. The PC shows it under devices but with a warning(!) and troubleshooting says there's no driver for 'CDC', it auto-searched the internet for a driver but came back empty. Now what?

The device storage areas should be recognised as removable drives when connected via USB without third-party drivers, allowing simple drag-and-drop copying.

  • In Idle mode, open the application list and select Settings
→ Wireless and network → USB utilities → Connect storage to PC.
  • Select OK to confirm (if necessary).
  • Using a PC data cable, connect the multifunction jack on your device to a PC.
  • When connected, select Connect USB storage.
  • Select OK to confirm (if necessary).
  • Open the folder to view files.
  • Copy files from the PC to the memory card.
  • When you are finished, select Disconnect storage from PC.
NB:
To disconnect the device from the PC, click the USB device icon on the Windows task bar and click the option to safely remove the mass storage device. Then remove the PC data cable from the PC. Otherwise, you
may lose data stored on the memory card or damage the memory card.
