I miss Iphones auto correction.

Hello

Auto correction on the anroid "Galaxy S3" is just horrible, the stock keyboard doesn't even correct simple things like lil to lol, I have even tried swift key/sype and it seems to still not be as good as my iphone 4s stock auto correction. Any idea why?

In my opinion Swiftkey is better than the Iphone keyboard. You have to give Swiftkey time to build "your predictive dictionary" once it does it is fantastic. Give it some time. Also, its on Sale right now.

Yes, Swiftkey, once it learns your typing style, is amazing. You can also have it scan your Twitter/Facebook/SMS/Gmail messages to speed up the process.

So does Swype, Kii and Touchpal. I've tried them all and they all use some form of learning method where the keyboard learns your typing patterns. I use Swype and my native language isn't one of the preinstalled languages, so I basically taught it an entirely new language and it works great in suggesting words and corrections.

I'd be extremely annoyed if my phone auto-corrected anything to "lol", since it's... not a word. I know it's commonly used, and many people would appreciate such a correction, but it would annoy me nonetheless.

Anyway, the others are right - many of the third party keyboards learn from what you type, and their accuracy will increase over time. There is no "best" keyboard; it's all a matter of personal preference. For me, SwiftKey is at the bottom of the list because there is no way to durable its Next Word prediction - a feature I absolutely can't stand.

Here's a small SwiftKey demonstration

Seems like you just registered, left one post and then left never to be seen again.

Oh well.

Here's a small SwiftKey demonstration. Based on what I've seen of the iPhone and other keyboards I cant see it's equal at this time, although I would like to see if any other keyboards are better, but i think SwiftKey's dominance at number 1in the Top Paid section of the Google Play store for over 6 months is incredible but justified.

To the OP.

SwiftKey can learn your typing style and make better predictions over time. If you just switched from an iPhone to an Android phone, it will take some time to get used to the various keyboards that you can choose to use. You are no doubt just really used to the iPhone keyboard and its auto-correct features.

I personally am not impressed with the stock keyboard which is why I use SwiftKey. SwiftKey has enabled me to type faster and more accurately on a touch screen than any other keyboard I have used. It does learn your typing style over time and learn what new words you use that is not in the default dictionary. You really have to give it some time.

True. Would also like to see any video of the iPhones auto correct capability compared to SwiftKey's. I will be very impressed if it's faster or more accurate.
