I haven't looked into this much but I one thing I used to like to do was open up the app with apk manager then find the link that the app was getting it's ads from and change it to something else like wwcw.google.ccom (minus the c's) or add the links to the hosts file which would block it as well. Don't know about the airpush crap since none of my apps have it.
