I need assistance!

So my power button stopped working a few days ago, leaving me to a phone that doesn't work unless I plug it into something. I am still under a year so the warranty does cover me BUT I rooted my phone. Every method I look at to go back to factory settings requires me to use my power button to choose something in Recovery mode. So I'm kind of dumbfounded on what to do about my situation. Any help?

I haven't tried replacing my battery. Is this a battery issue? My phone is on and it works. I receive calls and text like normal. However since my power button doesn't work, I'm unable to willingly go in and do this. I have to wait until someone calls me or texts me. In other words my screen is blank until someone contacts me because of the button not working.

well i would recommend pulling the battery and trying a restart, but then if youre power button is actually broken then you wouldnt be able to get it back on so i really dont know

after you are done with the call or text do you have access to the screen until it goes back into sleep mode or does it go right into sleep after the call ends?

if you have access could you go into the settings and change the screen timeout to 10 minutes and then use SuperOneClick to unroot the phone? The program has an unroot button

I don't have SuperOneClick :\ I assume I rooted my phone another way? I honestly don't remember; I rooted my phone on the first day I got it sometime in September.

yeah im not sure if you needed to root with superoneclick in order to unroot with it.

I think there are these things called jigs that you can buy that will put your phone into download mode without pressing the 3 buttons. I don't remember the exact steps to remove root and if this would help tho.

I may be a little late to the party here, but in case you're still having a problem getting into download mode, try this.

- Pull battery and sim/sdcard.
- Plug your phone in to your comp
- hold vol up+down
- insert battery

You should be in download mode now. Hope this works for ya!
