Root I need help my phone is going crazy...

Hello guys, well this is so weird and annoying. My phone was perfectly fine until yesterday. I was talking with my friends on Skype like i do every day using my phone, but when i look down at my phone it starts going crazy... opening screens, menus, sliding down the task bar, clicking things randomly. It also didn't respond to any input i gave it such as my own taps etc...

I tried restarting, didn't work.

I tried pulling the battery, didn't work.

I tried factory reset, didn't work.

I tried restoring with lg update, didn't work.

I don't know what else to do to get this thing to listen to me...

I was running the broken out ROM when this happened. but now im back to stock apparently from the lg update... what can i do guys?
 
Sounds like the screen went nuts... last time I heard of anything similar it was on the ascend cm7 original run.... I think we finally decided it was an issue with overheating causing the screen to think it was being played with...
 
looks like you got a lemon.

take it to metro and see if they'll give you a replacement or refund.

This may sound crazy, but have you tried cleaning the screen, or maybe a scratch/indent/smudge on the screen protector. I had a similar issue, removed the screen protector and it stopped.
 
Long story short... Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. I tried all the above and nothing fixed it. Corp store replaced it on the spot for $32.
 
Failed in 3 months, not good. You know that $32 is only the phone. You keep your original battery and door.
 
sounds like the digitizer (the actual touchscreen part) is going haywire. one of two things you could try. The ribbon cable might have gotten dirty, loose or something like that, so you could try taking it apart, cleaning and reseating the digitizers ribbon cable (of course this will void the warranty) OR you could just get a new phone from Metro.

Can also try applying even pressure across the entire screen at once.
Something around 5 pounds total weight with even distribution should be enough to stabilize the signal that may be getting caught. Having anti-static wrapping on the bottom will help too since it's got it's own current.
 
I found out what the problem was. I took the phone to Ubreakifix and they diagnosed it as "the digitizer got f*cked" so their installing a new digitizer and screen for me. Got to wait a week. But **** it i only paid $100. And metro was no help. So i had no choice but to have it repaired.

So yea guys don't let your phone over heat the guys at Ubreak explained to me that with the phones over heating problem you can screw up your digitizer with consistent episodes of overheating.

So yep problem solved.

WHAT?!?! Metro would not cover it? That is awful of them. They covered my Optimus doing that with no questions asked. All they checked was that the water damage sensor was not indicated. Before you pay $100 you should go back to Metro and get mad! You should only have to pay the standard $10 switching fee. Sorry, but you are getting ripped off by Metro.

If that did not work still, I would contact LG before paying an outside tech to fix it. Once they crack it open though, your warranty is voided, so it could be too late.

Seriously, either Metro or LG should pay for that. The phone has a 1 year warranty, and as long as you didnt drop it in water or on something REALLY hard and break it (which it sounds like you didnt), then they should cover it. The overheating is LGs fault not ours. Nothing we are able to do (besides overclocking it or something) should make it overheat.

Even if you were past the 30 day period You could have exchanged for a new phone for $10 or $30 from metro. Whoever told you that you couldn't BSed you.

Glad you got it fixed though, even if you payed more than you should have.
 
I don't think over heating was the cause of the problem. Mine nutted up sitting in the a/c playing on the Internet. In fact that phone has never got hot. The girl at the corporate store saw it freaking out. Like you want it now or wait a week $30 vs $10. It was 5pm on a Saturday so she got my $32.
