Root I need help rooting

Hi all, I'm new to the forums.

I bought my Vibrant last August, and a couple months ago updated via kies to 2.2. I just recently decided to root it and have read many many threads and articles about the process. And these past 3 days i have tried rooting and flashing a rom to no avail. Whenever I go to reinstall package it always gives me the signature verification error. I've looked up help solutions to this problem and can't seem to find out anything. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Edit: If its any help this is the version my phone is running

Firmware: 2.2
Baseband: T995UVKB5
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: FROYO.UVKB5
 
Have u tried superoneclick root?
If that doesn't work, you can odin back to 2.1, then try to root your method or superoneclick.
 
Thanks, but I actually got it rooted earlier this afternoon. I had no idea what odin was until I finally researched it, and it was actually extremely easy once I went back to 2.1.
