I NEED HELP WITH MY LG G2!!! Fastboot mode started

Um, can't i do it on windows?
Afraid not. Aside from perhaps a Ubuntu virtual machine environment running from Windows. Several people have had success doing that. It depends on the quality of the VM software it seems. Not sure which is the best.

This might sound like a stupid question, but did you unlock the bootloader for the vs980 before installing the recovery?

bro thank you. but it isn't work please help me.. How i flash this three file?and then what i will do? please send me whole process? please bro..

Download AF's mini sdk at the bottom of this post:

ADB Guide (updated 2014/11/11)

Unzip to the root of your PC's "C" drive. (assuming you use Windows)

Download the 3 files I mentioned in the previous post (aboot, boot, laf for the Sprint LG G2)

Place those 3 files in the sdk-tools folder on the root of your "C" drive.

Download PDAnet here: http://pdanet.co/a/

After downloaded to your PC, force your phone into fastboot mode, plug into PC and reboot machine while the phone is still plugged in. Upon restart, hope that the adb/fastboot drivers from PDAnet install.

Open Windows command prompt (CMD) and type the following commands:

cd c:\sdk-tools
fastboot reboot

If your device reboots, you are ready to proceed. With the phone once again in fastboot mode and with command prompt open (again from the sdk-tools directory), issue the following commands:

fastboot flash aboot aboot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash laf laf.img

Now unplug the phone. Long press power button for no less than 15 seconds. Then, press and hold volume up while at the same time plugging into the PC. You should have a working download mode now. If so, follow the intructs below to flash your phone back to working stock:

That is concerning, it should work. Did you buy the phone used by any chance? If you look at the model number on the back of the phone, near the bottom in very small print...does it say LS980? Never mind that if you bought it new of course.

Also, when you downloaded the partitions, you left clicked on each of them correct? And then waited for the popup to save them to your machine? If yes to all that, perhaps post a screenshot of your CMD session so we can see the result of all the commands.

Any chance you backed up your EFS at some point in the past. If you ever used IORoot back in the day, the option presented itself?

These G2 problems have become so complex that I'm essentially pulling up stakes and moving all my support efforts to Freenode IRC, channel #lg-g2.

Hate to do it, but issues that we can solve in minutes/hours there seem to take days/weeks in a forum format. I'll still be checking in here when I can but will likely have a reduced presence. FYI, my IRC nick is Ncrypt3d.

iowabowtech Ive been looking on forums as I have also got myself into a fast mode started sitiuation. I followed exactly what u said, even installed PDA to get the drivers working. It worked for me, now I have download mode and I am downloading the kdz firmware for my phone. I would probably get it working after Im done with the download and I would like to sincerely thank for from the btm of my heart. you have replied so many people with problems too and you are very helpful. Thanks again.

Hey iowabowtech,

You have practically saved me so far, but i still have problems, if you are available to help me.

I have a d802, had the grola v1.2 rom and tried to update to v2 and it got bricked. I followed your steps and flashed the 3 images and i am in download mode, only now i dont know what to do. If i run LGFlashTool, when i select Read Phone Information, it just crashes. I have the kdz file, which i found from here : http://www.lgkdz.com/ using the IMEA, so it should be correct. In the download mode it shows Firmware Update, it is on 0% and shows a B99 and ROOTED with red letters.

Thanks.

Please verify that you are using the kdz flash tool 2014 as seen here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

There are some different/older flash tool programs floating about that may not work. I don't remember having to check a box for read phone state but that said, I rarely use the kdz flash tool as I use an altogether different tool (also seen in the above thread) that uses tot files instead.

Im sorry, it was my mistake. In the site with the instructions, they said not to select the Read Phone Information. I did manage to make it work on the stock rom.

Although i can not understand something. I have rooted and installed the Grola rom v1.2 before the brick, but now i can not install it. It just shows a lightly bright black and doesnt boot.

Also, I have a question. Is the KK_Baseband_D802 the same thing with the B14CKBIRD-Kernel-G2-LP_d802?
And if so, since the rom is lollipop shoudln't i install the blackbird instead of the kk?

I just bought the phone and installed some roms, but i really can't understand some things about the whole procedure.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your answer.

I haven't looked at the prereqs for the rom of which you speak but since its an LP rom, I'm not surprised you're confused because there may be different devs who are building LP roms in different ways right now. We are caught between Loki and Bump. So if its not booting, it may require a bump'd TWRP with kk bootloader, etc. If you rooted and used Autorec to get your recovery, it downgrades aboot to JB, and flashes a non bump'd twrp. So you'll have to closely read the requirements for the rom and set yourself up accordingly. If you have any questions on that let me know and provide a link to the rom at that time as well so we can read the same material.
