Root I Need Help with Rooting!

I have the HTC EVO V 4G for Virgin Mobile, which is the same as the HTC EVO 3D. I want to install Google Now on my phone, but obviously I need the Jelly Bean. I need help rooting my phone. Is there a step-by-step tutorial or guide that I can follow to get the Jelly Bean? And do I still get all of the features I have now like the 3D? And is there any way they will release Google Now on the ICS? And how exactly do I root? Do I install something online? And is it hard?

They are not the same phone. HTC Evo V and Evo 3D only share the same hardware. ParanoidAndroid 2.99 does have JB 4.1.2 in the title, however im not sure if google now works on it or not. Mobster V3 also list Full google now. U might have to follow http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-a...ng-turning-your-phone-into-evo-3d-thread.html to turn ur phone into a Evo 3D in order to explore more Evo 3D JB roms. Yes, there is a step by step guide, look for them in Sticky. Features depend on roms. Most Evo 3D roms are on XDA, feel free to check out their Development section for the phone as all their roms r on there. They will list what works and what doesn't. you can get google now for ics by using this tweak but it is already included in alot of roms here and on xda so check before flashing... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224

if you use the tweak, be sure to thank the dev...

as for rooting, if you are coming from a gb device... yeah.. this is a longer process than gingerbreak... but in the end it is def worth it... you can also choose to get s-off (i highly recommend) which allows you to flash a larger variety of roms including sense 4.1 and jellybean roms... but the s-off process is a bit more dangerous...
