Root I need help with some problems.

Newbie
I rooted my phone with SuperOneClick 2.1 Root and rooting was success. I have installed Xrecovery and it works.

1. But when I try to install APP2SD then I get stuck in point 7.Create an PRIMARY EXT2 Partition (This is the one for apps2SD!). I do not understand how i do that? Point 6 says Create a PRIMARY FAT or FAT32 partition. I can to that however, beyond...and whats whit the: Give it space. You ll only need 1-2GB for apps2SD maximum? (I have a 4gb SD). Could someone explain more or show some pictures how its done, would be very grateful.

2. I have problems whit the themes too. I tried to install 2shared - Latest.HTC.Black.Framework.rar (thanks to Blitz). It is said: Place the framework you'll like to have in the root of your memory card. Should my memory card have a folder named root? Well theres not. What should I do?

I have not tried to install JIT yet. Should I try?

Please give advice on how to solve these problems. Thanking in advance.

Congrats on rooting your device. You will love your phone a lot once its rooted and all the add on's installed. JIT will increase the speed of your device to some extent. so i feel its better to have.

I will answer your second question first. "root of sdcard" means the actual driver itself.. u should not put those files into a folder. it should be put directly into sdcard drive. (H:\ or G:\ or F:\ or whatever)

Regarding your first question, connect the sdcard reader to pc and Open minitool partition. first delete the present format and create a new one. Follow the steps mentioned in the guide and in the partition size change it to the extent where the "unallocated space" shows 1 or 1.4 gb. apply and save the changes

Now at the main menu of mini partition tool there should be another drive "*:" with 1 or 1.4gb space. There create a new primary EXT2 partition. apply and save the changes. Now your sdcard is ready

Thanks. But now when i try to run CMD and type adb shell it gives me error: The program cant start because AdbWinApi.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem! I took adb, adbwinapi.dll and adbwinusbapi.dll and copy those three files to system32. (C:\windows\system32) But still the error.

try to reinstall superoneclick and copy those fresh files to system32.. If it stil doesn't work install Android SDK Android SDK | Android Developers

After installing it remember the location of the sdk.

Open CMD
type cd <your adb location>
EXAMPLE - cd C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools

NOTE: adb will be in android-sdk-windows\platform-tools

Now type adb shell

I think it work, how do I check it? And do I need to do something more after the app2sd is installed?

I think the app2sd workd but my available internal phone storage is 78.34mb. The apps a had are still in my phone and when i uninstalle some of them my available internal memory doesnt change. Do i need to uninstall all my current apps and games and then install them again to them to go to my sd card apps2sd folder or something?

78mb??? its strange.. how many apps do u have? i have 150+ apps and my internal memory is 104mb and keeps changing whenever i clean the caches.

Try to install some apps and see whether your internal memory is reducing and also in titanium backup it will show as app2sd in the main page. if it is there then your phone has app2sd.

Before installing app2sd, i had some 140 mb with just 3-5 apps installed from market. But after installing it increased to 177mb. So i think those apps where moved to app2sd automatically.

I have 28 app.

Opend my Titanium Backup and there are so:
Internal: 222mb (82.1mb free)
SD card: 2.47GB (1.70 GB free)
SD card (a2sd): 1.44 GB (1.30 GB free)

So to you think app2sd is working?

I installed one 8mb game from market and internal memory did not change. And if i uninstalld some apps whit File Manager the internal memory remained unchanged.

App2sd is installed in your device. maybe the old apps dint move to app2sd automatically i think.. backup all your apps using titanium and uninstall all the apps and reinstall them.

I uninstalled all apps and then installed some of the bigger ones. Internal memory in titanium shows 104mb. And it seems it doesent change if I install new apps or uninstall old ones.

I used Titanium to backup all my apps and internal memory went to 85mb. So what am i doing wrong? Whay isent it working?

instal cachemate from market and clear the caches. Apps like opera or other browsers, live wallpapers, and some widgets will reduce the internal memory.

Or

remove app2sd using adb or terminal emulator in phone. format your sdcard and instal app2sd again.

How to i remove app2sd? I installed Terminal Emulator from market but i do not know how to use it.

Is it possible that the problem may be that my Titanium Backup is a free version and not a full? Downloaded it from market.

For the first question, you'll find the answer in the same place where you had the tutorial to install it. And better termina it's the exact same as adb shell. So to be more precise, when you open it, it's the exact same thing as typing "adb shell".

As for the second, NO! It should show you internal mem and app2sd mem separately (in my experience)

What I did to get app2sd work, I think it works :D

1.Whit xrecovery I did Factory reset (full wipe) and Wipe cache partition.
This will delete all your phone data but it left it rooted.
2.Whit Mini Tool Partition Wizard I format my SD card again and did the app2sd process. When my phone rebooted I had Internal phone memory available 204mb. And after installing some apps i have available 178mb.

If I install Appes then it decreases little by little the memory but I think it should be like that?

What to you think?

Yup. it wil reduce due to caches.. install "cachemate for root users" from the market to remove some caches. The paid version will remove more caches.
