Root I need help with update!!

I tried to udate my huawei ascend to the cm7... But when i turn my phone on all i get is the white screen with the huawei image... Can someone help me????

At this point if you made a backup boot into recovery and wipe then restore your backup, this should get you back to where you were prior to flashing the rom.

If you didn't make a backup then you will need to download the correct rom onto your computer and you should be able to boot into recovery and use it for USB mass storage to move the correct zip to your SD or put the SD into a card reader and put it on there. Once you do that wipe and flash the correct zip file and you should be up and running again.
 
Yeah you wiped your current rom and rebooted without flashing.

Here choose a rom from PG's wiki- CM7-Ascend - Prepaid Android And put that file on your sd card like Yeahha said.

Along with this file- gapps-gb-20110828-signed 7.2.zip

And if your MetroPcs - MetrOFF-v1.3-MMS-GB-Edify-CM_ASOP-No_Roaming_indicator_Off_signed.zip (Dont flash this one until you have rebooted the phone a couple times)

Reboot into recovery, wipe everything and format everything (Do NOT format the sd card) again just for good measure then go to Install zip from sd>choose zip from sd and then choose the CM7 rom and then flash it. Then once thats done flash the gapps file. Then hit your back button till you are back on the main menu, go to advance and run fix permissions then hit your back button and select reboot phone. Then after a couple reboots flash that MetrOff file only if you are MetroPcs tho
 
its a cricket phone not metro pcs... and these are the steps i followed i took the battery out when i saw i had the wrong cm7 zip..



First and foremost, make sure you back up your contacts to your Google account.



Files you need to download:



*z4Root


*ROM Manager (Includes ClockworkMod Recovery)



*CM7-Ascend-05212011-signed



*cm7_gapps



Download files, then place them all on your sd card. Then place card in your phone.

Locate and install z4Root apk found on sd card. Open it after install, then select permanent root. Let your device reboot.

Install and run ROM Manager. Select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. Then select Huawei Ascend. You will receive a confirmation notice.



IMPORTANT!!!



Select Backup Current ROM (do NOT skip this step!) Device will restart and backup. After it has restarted, go back into ROM Manager and select Reboot into Recovery. Device will boot into the Clockworkmod Recovery mode.

Select and click yes (using trackball):

wipe data/ factory reset

wipe cache

Go to advanced, then select wipe dalvik cache

Go to mounts and storage, format: boot, data, system, cache (only these!)



Go back to main screen.

Select install zip from sdcard, then choose zip from sdcard

Now select CM7-Ascend-05212011-signed.zip (located where you downloaded to on your sd card). Then install cm7_gapps.zip, now go to advanced, then select fix permissions. Reboot, setup your newly installed 2.3.4 on your Ascend!

my phone is stuck on the screen when u initially turn it on.. how do i get past that is there a way i can get into the phone manually???
 
That was/is the right rom just an older version.

Just reboot into recovery and restore the back up if you made one.

If not just reboot into recovery flash the 0521 one you have on there and then just re wipe and flash everything once you have the other rom you wanted to flash.
 
Just hold the send key + volume up key and tap the power. It will take you into clockworkmod recovery. Then wipe data, wipe cache,advance>wipe dalvik, then to mounts and storage and format everything except the sd card. Then install zip from sd> choose zip from sd> select the cm7 file adn flash it. Then flash the gapps then go to advance>fix permissions then hit back key and select reboot phone and youll boot into CM7.

You're pressing the end key (rightmost one) instead of the send key (leftmost one), so hold volume up and send key (leftmost one) then tap power, and don't let go of them until the recovery shows up. Then you can...
wipe data/factory reset,
wipe cache partition,
wipe dalvik cache,
format boot,
format system,
format data,
format cache,
install CM7,
install gapps,
fix permission,
reboot.
